Want to have input on this year's spirit wear, maybe bring some fun new ideas into the mix? Ever longed to work the merch table for your favorite band? Become our new spirit wear volunteer! It's fun, easy and a great way to meet band families while bringing in a significant revenue stream for the BPA, and raising the Bands of Decatur profile all over town. Reach out with interest or questions to rachelp310@gmail.com.



2024 Band Camp Food & Volunteers — Sign up here

Feel free to sign up for multiple slots. Volunteers will be serving as “on-site parents on call,” helping Mr. Jenkins with things like distributing snacks, handling basic first aid (bandaids, hydration), taking pictures and moving tables around. Band camp is July 8-19.



2024 Mattress Sale — Sign up here

This fundraiser helps our concert band classes, chamber ensembles, marching band, winter guards, indoor percussion, jazz ensemble, and all aspects of our band program. We turn our cafeteria into a mattress showroom where people can sample mattresses as well as look at sheets, pillows, various linens, and other accessories. The sale is Saturday, July 20.

Volunteer Roles


Concessions: For each and every home football game, we will need a crew of parents to staff the concessions stand and help out with one of our primary and most successful fundraisers!


Chaperones: Parent volunteers to ride the bus and attend the away football games and competitions with the band. Perks include fun, free admission to those events, and the chance to be "behind the scenes" with our kids.


Pit Crew: This special group of dedicated parents attend their selected home and away games with the students and are responsible for the loading and unloading of the pit equipment before, during, and after games.


Uniform Crew: Everything goes much more smoothly when we have a few volunteers to help coordinate distribution and collection of uniforms before and after games and competitions. And it only takes a little bit of your time!


Band Photographer: We are looking for an individual with some photography experience and a digital camera to take photos of the band throughout the marching season and school year. Please contact us for more information at lmepstein1990@gmail.com.
